Okay. So, I have some tragic news to share. Iโm not sure if many of you are aware of what is happening. Okay. Not exactly tragic. Not CNN tragic. But wait. I will give you the good news first. Many women are living longer. Finally middle age is actually middle age! And now for the bad news! We are living longer, but sadly our vaginas are not! Vaginas everywhere are dying a slow and painful death!
And where are our infomercials? Where are all the sad vaginas laying around looking hungry and deprived? Where are the celebrities asking for penis donations and asking someone to, โTake one home today. Vaginas everywhere are dying. They need someone to love and care for them now!โ Who is looking out for us? No one. Thatโs who!
Oh no, my friends, Iโm afraid itโs up to many of us to save our own vaginas. Hereโs the catch. There really is only one way to do it! Sex. Of course, a partner is often the preference, but sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands! (Pun intended!)
As we age, we tend to really only focus on the idea that our face is cracking. Our physical appearance is changing. Our hair color and texture is changing. Our skin is changing. Our muscles are changing. Our waistlines are changing. These are all visible signs of aging that are pretty difficult to hide.
Sadly, there are also some changes that may not be that noticeable depending on your relationship status. As if menopause symptoms werenโt bad enough, there is this other issue that is rarely discussed. That issue is the dying vagina that is also affected by the aging process. (As well as how well you have taken care of it.)
Estrogen, the hormone that declines with age, unfortunately plays a major role in keeping it alive! Without estrogen, it can actually shrink and change color! I said SHRINK!!! As if the gray pubes werenโt bad enough, you might lose pubic hair altogether. (Which if I had to choose between losing hair on my head or my whooha, Iโm going with my head for sure!) Yup, you could be sporting a skinny, bald, vagina! Donโt believe me? Take a peak. Go ahead. Iโll wait!

And you thought only your face would sag. Sagging can actually be an issue! Just seems so damn unfair. While youโve been trying to lose weight everywhere else the vagina is the one place that thins out internally and externally as you age, without you lifting a finger! (Perhaps you should start! Only need one. Just saying!) I either saw or read where this comedian said she works out five days a week and the only thing getting thin on her was her vaginal walls. How tragically hilarious it was.
Wait, Iโm not done. If youโre not sexually active you may not have noticed the dryness, but itโs real. If you havenโt been getting it in, having intercourse or some sort of vaginal sexual activity on a regular basis, especially after menopause, your vagina may also become shorter and narrower. I know. WTH! Meaning it is highly likely that when you do decide to get you a lilโ bit, you will probably experience pain. So, letโs see, we have bald, skinny and dry. Really?
So I repeat! What helps keep it alive? Regular sexual activity! Okay, this is the last bit of bad news that some of you may have already experienced. As you age, sex drive may change or diminish. Fun times. Hormones, or lack thereof have hijacked your libido. So, now youโre mad, hot in all the wrong places and might possibly have a man or partner in your life that isnโt real happy with the situation.
With regard to men, Iโve wondered if this could this be PART of the reason you see so many older men running around with younger women? Of course, it could be that our patience and tolerance for BS diminishes along with that estrogen.

Okay. Back to the good news! You can keep your vagina healthier if you use it. And it needs regular use! Use it or lose it my friends? Keep the blood flowing to them there parts! Vaginal atrophy is a thing yaโll!
How about some more good news now that Iโve depressed the living hell out of you? Orgasms have many physiological benefits including pain reduction, lowering blood pressure, reducing stress and improved sleep. Regular sex also strengthens pelvic floor muscles that could help to improve or help to avoid bladder control issues. So if you ever intend to use it again, you better start paying it some attention and showing it some love.
So what is a woman to do without a partner? You can still enjoy the benefits of orgasm. Well, one option as I stated earlier is to take matters in to your own hands. (Hand) You can also find moisturizers at the drug store. Coconut and olive oil works too, but test it somewhere else first to make sure you donโt have any sort of reaction. That would be most unpleasant!
Another beneficial practice is Kegels. Easier said than done apparently. Doctors say that most women are doing them completely wrong. They recommend one hundred of them three times a day! I know it sounds like a part-time job, but apparently well worth it! Strengthening your pelvic floor makes sex more enjoyable when you get back to having some.
I also read that sitting on an exercise ball for fifteen minutes a day also helps to strengthen the vaginal muscles. It forces the muscles of the pelvic floor to contract.

So one last time, if you ever intend to use it again, you better start paying it some attention. And, for younger women who believe this only affects women during menopause, think again! These issues may also be experienced by women as early as their 40โs!
Youโve got that drawer or counter full of concoctions for that face. You better have something in a drawer or a hatbox to keep that vagina from cracking! If you need some help visit:
